Tour - Heritage Room
The Heritage Room is the original single room built as the first Beecroft School in 1897. The folding partition was installed in 1904. Until then up to 60 children were taught in the single room by two teachers - Team teaching in 1897! The children sat in long forms facing the front.
What is now “The Annex” was originally an additional classroom built in 1904. It was occupied by community health for a lengthy time as a dental clinic. The current music and pottery room were added as the Headmaster's Office and a storeroom in 1926. The two kindergarten classrooms were built in 1911 to accommodate the increasing enrolment.
