These include:
- Four teachers
- Four parents
- Two members from the local community. These appoints are made by the Council subject to the approval of the school Education Director.
The School Council is a separately constituted body to the P&C.
The School Council represents all the stakeholders of the School. The role of the School Council is to consider issues that impact on the greater school community. It's a forum for support, and discussion of major issues keeping in mind that the School's P&C Association is the main forum issues/matters which may arise from the parent body.
The School Council can consider issues such as:
- School policies and procedures - where appropriate e.g. student welfare
- Road and traffic issues
- Capital works (those not managed by the Asset Management Unit)
The School Council cannot deal with:
- The hiring and firing of staff
- The setting of the curriculum
- Raising of funds
- The educational management of the school
Specific educational issues should be directed to the class teacher, year supervisors or the
Principal. Matters pertaining to the
management of the school be referred to the Principal.
