If a child is unable to attend school, parents will need to send a note with their child on his/her return to school stating the reason for the absence. The school does not accept emails to explain why a child is absent.
Late Arrivals and Early Leavers:
Under Department of Education and Training regulations parents are required to take their child to the front office for a late arrival or early departure from school. Parents will need to accompany their child and complete the Early Leavers/Late Arrival book. The child will then be given a pass to give to their class teacher upon entering the classroom. It is a legal requirement that all absences, late arrivals and early leavers are recorded in the class roll.
Application for leave that exceeds 12 days:
If your child is going to be absent from school for more than 12 school days (e.g. family holiday, family commitment overseas) parents are required to apply for such leave by completing an “Application For Certificate of Exemption From Attendance at School” form. These forms are available from the school office and need to be completed before the extended absence. A separate form needs to be completed for each school age child in the family. Forms are then to be returned to the school office. Parents will be notified in due course. |
